OCALA When Principal Megan Losito of Blessed Trinity Catholic School saw the idea of a prayer wall, she commissioned her husband, Michael John, and his father, Michael Joseph, to build one for the school. She thought it would be perfect to re- place a mural that had darkened over the years, making the en- trance of the school feel closed in. Because of the high student traffic, she hoped the prayer wall would get visibility and activity. Her fourth-grade daughter and second-grade son painted the letters. They cut out different colored slips of paper and added different color buckets. She ex- plained, each color represents a different prayer intention: family, friends, teachers, church, coun- try, school, and more. I love seeing students and fac- ulty use the wall during the day," Losito said. "Students will pause

and take a colored slip for a spe- cial intention, fill it out and place it in the wall." Most times the prayers are for family and friends. Losito was not surprised at the response because each week students bring stewardship en- velopes to Mass. They write down how they will offer their time, tal- ent, or treasure each week, "Their drawings and pictures are so elaborate and they are always so proud to show me what they are offering to Jesus," she said. When we first put the wall up in August 2019, my sister-in-law had been diagnosed with breast cancer and found out she was pregnant. Each of my children wrote a prayer and they were the first two on the wall," Losito said. Today, my sister-in-law is cancer free and my niece will turn 1 in January."
