Above left, Bishop John Noonan, right, celebrates Mass on the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe at Centro Guadalupano Mission in Wahneta Dec. 12, 2020 with concelebrant Father Luis Osorio, administrator pro tem for the mission. The faithful gathered outside under the trees at the mission, which has a large Mexican population and other people from across the Americas. Before the Mass, members, seen below left, processed with a large statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe up Bomber Road where the mission is located. The statue was removed from the truck, below right, and processed to be placed in front of the altar, as seen above right. At the start of Mass, Father Osorio asked in Spanish for those from Mexico to raise their hands, which included much of those seated in folding chairs properly social distanced from one another. But he also had those from Puerto Rico raise their hands, then Guatemala, then Panama, followed by Nicaragua, Bolivia, Colombia, Argentina, and Chile, listing most of the Spanish-speaking areas of the Americas to remind the faithful their community is made of members countries and cultures and Our Lady of Guadalupe is mother to all.
